The Marketing Documentary Every Manager Needs to Watch

On Tuesday, 8 September in Cleveland Ohio, I had the privilege of attending the world premiere of The Story of Content: Rise of New Marketing. It’s a documentary produced by the Content Marketing Institute to explain content marketing and why it’s become so important to business. It should be required viewing by everyone working in marketing.

The film is 45 minutes long and packed with insight from marketers, academics and entrepreneurs. It provides a balanced view of content marketing, giving an equal combination of inspirational and pragmatic information. The movie delivers a refreshingly global perspective so it’s relevant to companies outside the USA.

If you’re having trouble convincing your management about the benefits of content marketing or how it’s different from traditional advertising, you’ll want to watch. It doesn’t hurt to make sure your executive team watches, too. You can see the film here:

In the Lush office, we’re making our own event out of the movie. We’re popping corn and bringing in a few beverages to encourage everyone to take 45 minutes out of their day to see the flick. Why don’t you plan to do the same with your team? It’s the best way to make sure you have internal understanding and buy-in about this burgeoning marketing strategy.

If you’d like to talk to us about content marketing for your small or medium business, get in touch. We’ve been working in the content marketing space for more than a decade and can discuss our views on why and how content marketing works.

What content initiatives are you considering for your business?
